Privacy Policy
Last updated:
Short version: your car photos never leave your iPhone. There is no account. We use anonymous usage analytics to improve the app, and you can turn them off. No ads, no tracking across apps, no selling data.
1. Who is responsible
The controller of personal data processed in connection with the Dashfie app and this website is Natalia Tomala, Warsaw, Poland (“we”, “us”). You can reach us at support@dashfie.com.
2. What stays on your device
Car photos, the cut-out images created from them, widget settings (texts, plate number, dates, styles) and sound settings are stored only on your device, in the app’s private storage shared with its widgets (an iOS App Group container). Background removal runs on the device. We do not upload this content to any server and we cannot see it. If you delete the app, this data is deleted with it.
Dashfie has no account and no login. We do not ask for your name, email or phone number in the app.
3. Purchases and subscriptions
Purchases are made through Apple’s App Store. Apple processes your payment and Apple ID details under its own privacy policy; we never receive your card details or Apple ID.
To check whether you have an active Dashfie Pro subscription, we use RevenueCat (RevenueCat, Inc., USA). RevenueCat processes App Store purchase receipts and transaction details (product, price, dates, country/currency) together with a random, anonymous app user ID generated by the app. This ID is not linked to your name or Apple ID by us.
Legal basis: performance of the contract with you (Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR) and our legal obligations (Art. 6(1)(c) GDPR).
4. Anonymous product analytics
To understand which features are used and where the app breaks, we use PostHog with data hosted in the EU (PostHog EU Cloud). We collect app usage events (for example “widget created” or “paywall viewed”), device model, iOS version, app version, language and a random anonymous identifier. We do not collect names, photos, plate numbers, precise location or contacts.
You can turn analytics off at any time in the app’s settings. After you opt out, no further analytics events are sent from your device.
Legal basis: our legitimate interest in improving and fixing the app (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR). You can object at any time by switching analytics off.
5. What we do not do
- No ads and no advertising SDKs.
- No tracking across other companies’ apps or websites (we do not use Apple’s IDFA).
- No selling or renting of data to anyone.
- No profiling with legal or similarly significant effects.
6. Who else processes data
- Apple: App Store, payments, app distribution (an independent controller for its services).
- RevenueCat, Inc.: subscription verification (our processor).
- PostHog: product analytics, EU hosting (our processor).
- Vercel: hosting of this website; it processes technical server logs such as IP address and browser type to deliver the pages.
Some providers are based in the United States. Where data is transferred outside the European Economic Area, this happens on the basis of the EU-U.S. Data Privacy Framework or the European Commission’s standard contractual clauses.
7. The website
This website does not use cookies for tracking or advertising and has no analytics. We may store your language choice in your browser’s local storage so we do not show the language hint again.
8. How long we keep data
- On-device content: until you delete it in the app or delete the app.
- Subscription records (RevenueCat): as long as needed to provide the subscription, and afterwards for as long as required by tax and accounting law.
- Analytics events: up to 24 months, then deleted or aggregated.
- Emails you send us: as long as needed to handle your request, and up to 3 years after that in case of follow-up questions or claims.
9. Your rights
Under the GDPR you have the right to:
- access your data and get a copy,
- have it corrected or deleted,
- restrict or object to processing (including analytics),
- data portability, where applicable,
- lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority. In Poland this is the President of the Personal Data Protection Office (Prezes Urzędu Ochrony Danych Osobowych, UODO), ul. Stawki 2, 00-193 Warszawa, uodo.gov.pl.
To use your rights, write to support@dashfie.com. Because we do not know who you are, we may ask you for details that help us find the right data (for example the approximate purchase date). Deleting the app removes all content stored on your device.
10. Children
Dashfie is not directed at children under 13 and we do not knowingly collect data from them. If you believe a child has provided us with personal data, contact us and we will delete it.
11. Changes
If we change this policy, we will publish the new version on this page with a new date. For significant changes we will also let you know in the app.
